The Ohio Chapter of ASLA will be hosting its third annual In-State Advocacy Day at the Ohio Statehouse on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018. See our tentative schedule below!

We will be modeling our day based on the national ASLA Advocacy Day held in Washington D.C. each year. Please take a moment to let us know if you are interested in participating. We need your help!

We have had many issues in Ohio to discuss with our state legislators, from water quality issues in the Toledo area, to recent developments with the Ohio Landscape Architects Board and the Sunset Review Committee.

Are you a bike pedaling landscape architect?

Please consider participating in the 2018 Tour des Trees. It's an annual weeklong 500+ mile bike ride to benefit the TREE (Tree Research and Education Endowment) Fund, an ASLA sponsored organization that supports:
? Scientific research on urban tree care issues.
? Education programs related to trees.
? Scholarships for students aspiring to be green industry professionals.

Team ASLA has been formed for the ride for landscape architects to be a part of.

The ride takes place July 29 - August 4, 2018, beginning and ending in Columbus, Ohio and traveling through northern Ohio.


It is possible to ride for only one or several days!

Main Responsibilities include:

Assist in all phases of design including drawing production work, site analysis, conceptual to master planning, cost estimating, design development, construction documents, bidding and site observation.


  •        Proficiency in AutoCad, Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office
  •        Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related design field
  •        One to two years of experience in Landscape Architecture, preferred
  •        Strong communication and teamwork skills with an open, friendly demeanor
  •        Excellent attention to detail, time management, prioritization, organizational skills
  •        Experience working independently

JOB TITLE: Landscape Architect/Designer

Pashek + MTR, located in Pittsburgh, PA, is an award-winning landscape architecture and community planning firm committed to improving our environment. We are currently seeking a registered landscape architect or landscape designer with 2-4 years of professional experience to join our team. Candidate must be a proactive self-starter with the following qualifications:

• Degree in LA (BLA or MLA) from an accredited College or University
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2015 or newer, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Design Suite
• Experience with grading, planting design, materials and technical aspects of landscape architecture

• Experience working with project teams on projects of various sizes

Typical tasks would include assisting with project design and renderings, attending client and public meetings, cost estimating, preparing construction documents, permitting and municipal approvals, contract administration, project bidding, and construction observation. Construction documents include layout drawings, grading plans, planting plans, construction details, and specifications. Projects range in scope from master planning and feasibility studies to schematic design and construction documents.
